Social Media's Bright Side

Kacy Cigan

Staff Reporter

In my last follow-up, I talked about the downfall of social media, but this time, let's focus on the good side. We know that the internet helps us all connect with friends and family. Other times, it can help create those positive, and laughable, and cringeworthy moments. Whether you are reacting to funny videos at a sleepover with friends or recording those favorable moments, the internet is quite helpful and can be used for good. “ Seeing others work through tough times can also be inspiring and help us see things from a new perspective.” says Kubbco.com. It is true in a sense. Not only are you showing empathy or sympathy, it always helps to know that you are never alone if you struggle with something similar.

The internet also helps spread news, and allows world wide communication. Sometimes you can even learn new things, mind you, not everything on the internet is true. Kubbco.com also mentions how it may help people academically for when they need assistance or to gain/support inspiration for big dreams, “ Many influencers will openly share their knowledge to help others grow. Following people that inspire you to hold to your values, dream big, and change the world can be life-changing.” When it comes to business foundation, sharing art, gaining confidence, or to just “get the word out” the internet and social media can help spread it, and fairly quick too. Just think twice before you post. Overall, the internet is just as bad as it is good, it just makes life in some ways, easier.
