“We are happy, free, confused, and lonely at the same time,”- 22 by Taylor swift.

You know this song from Taylor Swift and yes, my life as a foreign student is same as this part from this song. People always expect that our life will be perfect as people always said to me, “you live your dream life.” I can say it is true but not all. In my exchange year it includes all things, most of the time I am happy and feel free but sometimes I feel lonely to be far from home, miss all people I have known for a long time, and sometimes I feel confused about what I am doing here and why I came here. I am Wawa and I am an exchange student from Thailand. I came here as a student, so I still must go to school. I had studied in a boarding school in Thailand for 5 years so American high school surprised me a lot. I have one day to take a rest after a long 24-hour fl ight from Thailand to America. The first day, I felt so nervous, and overthinking everything. It is hard to go to school where no one knows me, and my English is not good at that time, so I am so nervous to make friends. It has been hard for me to go to school for a couple of days but finally everything gets better when I have friends (Jade, Kelsey, and Athena). For the class in the fi rst semester, I have Algebra II, Ceramics, Human Physiology, and Dance. I would say Dance and Algebra is my favorite. Even though I have learned everything in Algebra II since eight grades in Thailand, but I do enjoy it, Mr. Buegler is wonderful. For the second semester I have AP English, AZ/ USA History, Newspaper, and Culinary. At first it has been hard for me because all the class its force me to use more English and all skill, but it is getting better and better anyway. I played badminton and I do love it so much. Everybody in the team, including Mr. Staff ord, is always so nice to me. Even I have played badminton in Thailand, but I just play for fun because we do not play any sport in school, so we do not have any practice as sport, everybody just plays to relax after school. So, when I started Badminton here it was hard at the beginning, but everybody always helps me and gives me some advice. I would say, even I have to repeat my junior year but, I think it is worth it! This year I have an experience that I will never have again. I will miss a lot of people here so much. I feel so much thankful for all my friends and teachers here that always help me.
