Greatest Delight, a Cheeseburger

"Food is symbolic of love when words are inadequate" -Alan D. Wolfelt.

Truer words have never been spoken; food connects mankind better than anything. Our home, the USA, is a prime example due to millions of immigrants bringing their cuisines here. In my opinion, the finest of these is the hamburger, imported from Germany. The potential of these sandwiches were recognized by the McDonald brothers and their business partner Ray Kroc; almost a century later, McDonald’s is the largest food chain in the world. If you ask me, Jack In the Box has the best when it comes to sauce, meat, mouth feel, etc.

But it is not perfect. In my honest opinion, the best hamburger must heed the following rules: 100% beef mixed with various spices and infused with chopped mushrooms, the patty should be eight inches wide and one inch tall, cooked at 400 degrees over charcoal. The sauce consists of Heinz 57 ketchup/catsup, Dijon mustard, light olive oil mayo, Worcestershire sauce, Frank’s Red Hot sauce, vlasic relish, white vinegar, sea salt and black pepper, if you want to, add some buttermilk ranch and a pinch of sugar. The buns must be whole wheat sesame seed buns, lightly grill them and lather some butter and applying the sauce, the vegetables must be in this order; tomato, onion, lettuce before being placed on the bottom bun, the cheese must be pepper jack and applied to the patty whilst grilling, thus it melts onto the patty and stabilizes it, the fries must be sliced from the freshest russet potatoes and air fried for fifteen minutes then be lightly doused in salt and vinegar. A fry sauce composed of Worcestershire sauce, mayonnaise and pickle juice must be composed followed by a drink of choice- a strawberry Dr. Pepper in my opinion. But hey, I cannot force you to do any of this, what you want is your choice. In the words of the mighty Burger King, “Have it your way!”
