The annual dig pink game happened on Tuesday, October 27th. It was a tough game between Ironwood and Centennial, though that was expected since the teams were playing for a case. Both schools came together to raise money for breast cancer research. Near 1,300 dollars was raised and all of it was donated to the Dig Pink Foundation. Each school made and auctioned off different goodie baskets that made considerable profit.

Ironwood took the 1st and the 2nd set and Centennial took the last 3 sets. This was Ironwood’s first volleyball game that went on for five sets. It was a tough game against Centennial but a great one. Both teams wore special jerseys in solidarity. The gym had many cool decorations and honorees, who are breast cancer survivors, were recognized and given flowers. It was a great night in support of a great cause.

Centennial ended with the win despite great efforts from Ironwood. Many fans and honorees were among the crowd cheering for both sides. This was defiantly not a game about rivals but instead of two schools coming together to create something special. Many honored family members and friends, staff members and others who have been affected by any type of cancer. It was a special night for many and will be remembered until next year's game.
