Eagle Madness

Tis’ the season of giving and many clubs, sports and individuals are doing their part to help out those in need. It is important to help around, especially those in our community that need it and the basketball event held on Ironwood’s campus November 16,2022 called Eagle Madness, did just that.

This event, formally known as Midnight Madness, had been canceled the past couple years due to Covid-19. Though that was the case, starting it back up this year went very well and for a good cause. There are quite a few families in our community that are in need this season as Thanksgiving is right around the corner. Eagle Madness admission was canned or Thanksgiving food that would go straight to the Ironwood food pantry. This donated food is then going to students on our campus that are in need. Thank you to everyone that attended the game and gave food to help out.

During this event the girls basketball program did an intersquad scrimmage as did the boys basketball. Then, the biggest hit of this event, the staff game, took place at 5:30. A courageous group of staff members played against each other in a game of basketball and it was a great time. Along with these games there was also an alumni game in which some of Ironwoods’ alumni came back to play. This event was a blast and kept many entertained from 3:30 to 8:00.

This was a great opportunity for us to not only give back to our community but to also strengthen and influence our community. Thank you to everyone who participated and thanks again to those who showed up and donated to our food pantry. Let us continue giving, keep it up Eagles!
