Poem 1: “Mine” The barron prison halls scream silence, but the scream of fellow inmates just cannot leave my head! False accusations of heinous crimes, only a twin can commit and call himself a human of mine. It is his fault this started Not mine. No level of authority can stop him, or his children of the dead. His monsters, his stalkers, now with the freedom that’s supposed to be mine. Here I rot. Starving and thirsting. Glaring at these prison bars. The penalty of death, oh how I wish I’d seen it sooner… Or accepted it- instead of a lawyer. Helpless, pathetic, captive. That is all I am. Anything would be better than this fate of death. The demons have my freedom and I hope I die. So I can be with my sweet family of mine.
Poem 2: “Creatures in the Rain” Thundering dark, feeds fear into my heart. A silhouette I see, hunched and awaiting me through my window. The creatures in the rain are too much to see- they start off with, one, two and finally three! Their horns, their spines, their howling cries, I can’t see any eyes. They are calling me. There they stand, under those post lamps by the street. All I see is my human reflection, right in front of me. A door creaks from inside my home, so much for safety, let alone security, they are inside, Now there is no helping me. Their mimicking cries, oh why me, you pesky creatures of tonight! The sounds, the cries, I can see them from the corner of my eyes. Here I turn, and here I see those nightly creatures standing before me, Now my heart is racing inside of me.
