Do you like to dance? Let’s get to know this awesome club in Ironwood High School, “Dance Club.”
When we asked Mrs. Lanning about how the club is doing so far, she said, “This semester is going well so far, we just started, and it is really fun for everybody who likes to dance and are joining in this club, and I am doing an afterschool dance club group for any students that have had a semester of dance passing the class with a B or better, every Tuesday at 2:30. We had our first class on February 7th and about 22 students attended.” Second question, we asked Mrs. Lanning is if you have any outstanding members, she said “I have an amazing Performance Dance Group, all are outstanding.” Next question, we asked Mrs. Lanning what requirements are need to join for next year's fall semester. She said, “Keep an eye out for Performance Dance 2023-2024 Auditions. You must have completed one semester of Beginning dance to audition. Packets will be available in March with more information.” We also asked her about any future events she is looking forward to, she responded, “They will be working on a dance that will be in the spring dance concert. Our Spring dance Concert has a Disney theme. "Magic Happens" will feature songs and themes centered around Disney classics, Pixar, and Marvel characters. Our concert dates will be April 27th and April 28th starting at 7pm each night. Tickets will cost $5 (pre-sale) and increase to $8 at the door. Seating is assigned and tickets will be sold 2 weeks before the show. February 20th we are participating in the AZ dance Education Organization's, 37th High School State Dance Festival at Combs HS. March 4th, Dance will perform at the PUSD Arts Festival at 12:45pm on the dance stage.”
Eventually, they do a lot of things, and they work hard to make a performance look perfect, but it is also fun at the same time. Join this club if you are free and want to do interesting things after school.
