School would not be the same without the performing arts that are included. Theater is no exception. They have worked very hard to put on the shows they have this year. They have performed several shows, as they do every year, this year’s being The Trojan Women adapted by Ellen Mclaughlin from the play by Euripides and Las Soldaderas by Nelly E CuellarGarcia, The 1940’s Radio Hour based on the book by Walton Jones, A Piece of My Heart by Shirley Lauro, and Legally Blonde based on the novel by Amanda Brown and the Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer motion picture. Many rehearsals went into making these shows what they were. Thanks to the students, alumni, faculty, and especially Mr. Akers, each show was fantastic. A couple of the most memorable shows from this year were definitely Legally Blonde as well as The 1940’s Radio Hour. The 1940’s Radio Hour was the Faculty and Alumni Showcase for the first semester. It was a very fun watch about a New York radio station on the air. The broadcast in this show was being recorded for troops overseas. The audience was the live radio audience and at times they got involved as they should. Watching the cast portray such big personalities was very entertaining. Surely many have seen Legally Blonde, whether the musical or the movie. Elle Woods chases the guy she loved after he broke her heart. She does this by going to Harvard. It is definitely worth watching. It is a classic and theater pulled it off beautifully. An amazing way to end the season. All of these shows took a lot of work from each person involved and were a wonderful experience for not only the cast but the audiences as well.
