Have you thought about being a chef? If yes, Ironwood’s Culinary is the perfect choice for you. Ironwood’s Culinary went through a lot of things this year, so our Eagle’s Eye Newspaper interviewed them.

We asked Mr. Langenbach about what competition and program Ironwood’s Culinary competes in. He answered, “this year we compete in two organization, the first one is C- CAP (Careers Through Culinary Arts Program) Preliminaries which we compete to get scholarship money and the second one is CTSO (Career and Technical Student Organizations) called FCCLA (Family, Career and Community Leaders of America), this program we have to go down to Tucson.” Next, we asked him how competitions are going. He said, “For C- CAP, we did such an excellent job, one senior is in the last section has guaranteed scholarship money, we will know how much on April 26 at the breakfast conference. For FCCLA, we have two top ten juniors for the state, and we look forward to winning the Culinary’s boot camp, which is the trip to Monroe College, New York. We have the first student ever, “Samuel Bickley” who won the first-place mystery basket.” We asked him if he had a hard time this semester. He said, “Yes, it was tough this year but worth it, as I said we achieved a lot off program.” We also asked Mr. Langenbach about any outstanding student. He responded, “Everybody did such an excellent job this year and I really appreciate it. I want to say that Sam Bickley (senior) who got a cash scholarship from Northern Arizona University (NAU) and he won the mystery basket competition, Kasey Legg and Angeline Mohat are a top ten junior in the state for C-CAP, Madison Nguyen (Sophomore) got 92 out of 100 of the cupcake decoration competition in FCCLA. Lastly, we asked Mr. Langenbach about any future event that he looks forward to. He answered, “Now we wrap up everything already because it is the end of the year but next year, we look forward to doing Harvest Moon in Fall. Moreover, Eagle’s Eye Newspaper interviewed Angelina Mohat (Junior). First, we asked Angeline what she thought about the culinary program. She answered, “Culinary is my passion, the programs are amazing because they help me with my future.” Next, we asked Angeline about how she prepared for the program and competition, she said, “I meditate, pray, and stay calm throughout the days.” Lastly, we asked Angeline, “What she thought was the best part in this program and culinary that she liked the most? She responded, “I like the community, the food that has to be made, and the system they have established to move onto the next steps.” Eventually, Ironwood’s Culinary has a lot of things going on and we are so proud of them that they always bring a prize to Ironwood.
