Behind the Scenes Staff: Mrs. Dodge

Mathew Futch

Staff Reporter

Every day, we walk around our beautiful campus and ignore the staff who work behind the scenes here at Ironwood. Many people do not realize how many staff help students who need a little in classes, and the teacher who the Eagle’s Eye Newspaper interviewed is Mrs. Dodge.

Mrs. Dodge’s job here on campus is to help the Special Ed. kids. Also, she is an assistant to Mrs. Bartz. She does many grade checks for the classes she is a part of and gives students many opportunities to catch up on assignments, which are very much needed for how often kids are sent home due to COVID-19. On top of this, she does a lot of documenting for the kids she helps. This means she makes sure she is very active on her email for students to have easy accessibility to information about their missing assignments.

When asked what the positives are for working for Ironwood, she stated how much she loves the environment, the administration, and nice kids as well. In fact, Mrs. Dodge enjoys Ironwood so much, she came back after she graduated from Ironwood. Though when asked about the challenges, she said it is when kids do not take all the opportunities she gives them and still does not do their work in class.

Mrs. Dodge goals here at Ironwood is to make sure every child succeeds, both by graduation and building confidence. In response to a question about how long she plans on working here she said, “FOREVER FOREVER FOREVER FOREVER!!!!!” She says that she absolutely loves her job here at Ironwood. She has been working in the district for 20 years, but 17 of them are at Ironwood! Her father, siblings, her cousins have all worked here at Ironwood. Since so much of her family has been a part of Ironwood, Mrs. Dodge said that when she graduated, she wanted to come back to Ironwood.

Mrs. Dodge has two kids that go to Oakwood, one in 2nd grade one in 3rd grade. She will be married for 10 years in June. Mrs. Dodge was born and raised in Arizona, though she spent some of her younger years in New Mexico. She runs as the cross-country couch and loves being a part of the team.

To conclude this interview with Mrs. Dodge, we here at the Eagle’s Eye Newspaper would like to thank Mrs. Dodge for all the work she puts into Ironwood. Also to thank her for loving this high school with all of her heart.
