Behind the Scenes Staff: Ironwood's Lovely Receptionist

Mathew Futch

Staff Reporter

Every day, we walk around our beautiful campus and ignore the staff who work behind the scenes here at Ironwood. This week, Ironwood’s lovely receptionist Ms. Lisa was interviewed by The Eagle’s Eye Newspaper. Ms. Lisa can be seen at the front desk working near our lovely attendance ladies in the front office.

Ms. Lisa’s job responsibilities here at Ironwood are to answer the phone and greet people as they come onto campus and give visitors directions so they do not end up lost. Also, she verifies whether they belong on campus.

Ms. Lisa initially worked for Centennial Highschool but had to resign to take care of her father, and when she came back, she did not have a job to go back to. She applied at Ironwood since it was available and has now been working here for five years. She loves it here, and when asked what the positives are for working At Ironwood, she says that she loves the kids here. She loves how different every one of the students is. Ms. Lisa stated, “You guys are the best thing about Ironwood. I do not like it when you guys aren’t here; you can ask anyone here in this office, and they can tell you.”

She says the challenges for working here are not exactly specific to Ironwood. She loves Ironwood a lot, but her challenges are when someone is angry and calls the school, which means Ms. Lisa has to calm them down and figure out what is the issue.

She plans to retire when her husband does, so she wants to work for two or three more years. For now, Ms. Lisa kindly stated that her goal is to get the school back to normal and give us our high school experience. She also wants to start back up programs, like the prom dress one, where front office staff would go and buy dresses for the less financially stable girls to have their prom experience. She loved being able to help the students as much as she could.

Ms. Lisa is a grandmother to two kids, a mother to four kids. She loves birds and nature. She loves how calming and relaxing nature can be, as she can watch the birds fly in the trees. She also loves people absolutely, and she is an extremely social person.

To summarize everything, Ms. Lisa is a lovely receptionist and quite a lovely person and worker here at Ironwood. The Eagles’ Eye Staff are thankful we can have her here at Ironwood and be a part of our community here.
