The Coronavirus has impacted our day to day life in a life changing way. From the worldwide quarantine to appalling death rates and collapsing economy, the pandemic is unavoidable. Here is an update on the coronavirus in Arizona.
As of Thursday, there are now 4,234 confirmed cases in Arizona and there are 150 known deaths. The number of cases continue to rise, however, there is an estimated peak. According to ktar.com, “The study by the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation at the University of Washington projects the state will peak on April 26. That’s the day when nearly 5,000 coronavirus patients will likely be hospitalized.”
For those who are worried about access to food and supplies, do not stress. All grocery stores in the area, i.e.. Fry's, Sprouts, Target, Albertsons, and Trader Joes are all still open. However, most of them now require shoppers to wear a mask before entering.
Speaking of masks, the Control for Disease Center’s guidelines remain the same. Try to keep at least 6 feet apart from strangers, wear a mask and gloves, and wash your hands as much as possible. A new request from the CDC is for people to use homemade cloth masks instead of the store-bought ones. This can assure that the first responders have as many masks as they need to use. The CDC also has a step by step page directions page so you can make your own at home. The great thing about this is that you can reuse it repeatedly, just wash it after each use. Plus it is washing machine safe. Just click this link to make your own: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/prevent-getting-sick/diy-cloth-face-coverings.html
