What’s Coming And Leaving Streaming Services

Victoria Harkless

Assistant Editor-In-Chief

This is a big month for streaming services in terms of things coming to them. This article will be focused on Hulu, Netflix, and Disney+ and I have chosen titles that are more commonly known or that would interest a wider range of people.

Hulu had the least amount of things that would be interesting to a high school student. The drag queen movie “Hurricane Bianca” arrived on Hulu on August first, and coming on August fifteenth is the seventeenth season of the TLC classic “Say Yes To The Dress”. On sadder news, Hulu is losing “Dirty Dancing” and “Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights” on August thirty-first.

Netflix is getting several new things this month. The 2014 animated film “Mr. Peabody and Sherman” comes to Netflix on August eleventh. August thirteenth will see the addition of another piece of the “Last Airbender” series with the “Legend of Korra” series books one through four. The musical “Les Miserables” is being welcomed on Netflix on August sixteenth as well.

Netflix will lose several good movies though including the french film “Blue is the Warmest Color”on August fifteenth followed by “Just go with it” on August twenty-secound and “Clueless'' on August thirty first.

While doing research for this article Disney+ had no definitive list (that i could find) of things that were leaving. On the other hand, Disney+ is receiving several films like the 2018 movie “Antman and the Wasp”, “The Greatest Showman” and “Zombies 2” on August fourteenth. They’re also receiving a film named “The One and Only Ivan” that was inspired by a book of the same name on August twenty-eighth.

Overall this seems to be a pretty good month for streaming and while we are losing a couple great films we seem to be gaining others. Enjoy the new stuff to watch and happy binging!
