The Genshin Archons are the gods of elements; there are 7 Archons in total, one for each element. Pyro, Hydro, Dendro, Cryo, Electro, Anemo, and Geo. We only know about 3 of the Archons, Venti the anemo Archon, Zhongil the geo Archon, and finally Baal the electro Archon. All of the Archons have their own backstories and why they do what they do.
First the anemo Archon Barbatos or also known as, “Venti,” the god of freedom rules Mondstadt of Freedom. Venti takes the form of his dead friend and lives as a bard and he sometimes sings outdated songs. He likes apples and lively atmospheres but hates cheese and anything that is slimy. When channeling anemo, it appears in the form of out-stretched feathers, because he likes things to look light. Around 2,600 years ago the Archon war had yet to end and the world had yet to fall under the dominion of The Seven. In those days, the city called Mondstad was surrounded on all sides by gales impenetrable even to the birds of the air. Their ceaseless howling ground the soil and the rock of that city into smooth, flowing dust. The Lord of Wind who lived in his tower was the Decarabian God of Storms. In those days, Venti was but a single thread of the thousand winds that roared through the northern lights. He who would, in latter days, be known as Barbatos, was but a tiny element spirit, without a shred of divine dignity, a breeze that brought subtle changes for the better, or tiny seeds of hope. In Mondstadt of old, Venti met a young boy. This lad knew how to play the lyre (a tiny harp) and longed to write the greatest poem of all. “I do so wish to see the birds in flight,” said the boy who had never seen the blue sky, eagles, or the green grass, his voice almost utterly drowned by the wind. “Friend, will you not come along?”
The geo Archon, `Morax, or more commonly known as Zhongli or Rex Lapis, is the god of Liyue which translates to ‘Glazed Moon’ He is Morax, the overlord Rex Lapis who rules Liyue, and the Geo Archon of the Seven. The very money that circulates throughout Teyvat, Mora, is named after him. When night falls and busting Liyue begins to slumber, he will sometimes stand atop the towering mountains and gaze upon this city, which he made with his own hands. To the people of Liyue, Rex Lapis has many divine titles. When he laid the laws with his divine might, he was officially titled the “God of Contracts.'' As the founder of Liyue Harbor, contracts are the most important thing to Zhongli. From simple monetary exchange and agreements between merchants to the ancient laws that Zhongli himself laid down, there is no part of city life untouched by contracts. To merchants, contracts are the most important standard to which they hold themselves. Rex Lapis, the most ancient of The Seven, has lived far too long. Rex Lapis still remembers that moment when the final Archon took their divine seat, thus ending the Archon war and the era of warring gods. The Seven were a diverse lot dispersed far and wide but they all shouldered the burden of guiding humanity. As time passed, many of The Seven’s titles changed hands, and only two remained of the first Seven: Rex Lapis and the Anemo Archon.
Baal, meaning the god of life and fertility, is the Electro Archon also known as the Raiden Shogun she is the god of Inazuma of Eternity. She is the most recent Archon that was introduced to Genshin Impact, we do not know too much about her other than that she had to either watch her friends get corrupted and kill them or watch them die in battle. She had a very small group of friends and they all had a big role in Inazuma, after she had to kill her friends she sought the road of eternity. Her first friends consist of Chiyro, Sasayuir, and Kitsune Saiguu. Chiyro, Mikoshi Chiyo, also known as Torachiyo, is a valuable ally of Baal - the Raiden Shogun. Previously, the four of them had a happy time together before they left Baal one by one. Chiyo was swallowed by a monster while fighting against the dark forces with Baal. Then, the dark swallowed Chiyo and turned her into a different person. In the stomach of the beast, Chiyo was stained by a deep sin. She turned her sword on Baal who used to be a close friend of Chiyo. Then, the boss Raiden Shogun defeated Chiyo and cut a horn and an arm of this character. After that, this character fled away and disappeared into the forest. Sasayuri is another character in Baal's friends who is on the left side of the picture. This character served the Raiden Shogun for a long time before being killed in the civil war between the Great Serpent Orobashi on Watatsumi Island and the force of the Raiden Shogun. Losing this friend also became a nightmare for Baal. Kitsune Saiguu is the last character in this photo of Baal and her friends. This character is also known as Lady Saiguu or the Hakushin Kitsune. She is the descendant of the influential Hakushin Clan in Inazuma. Kitsune Saiguu was also one of the lost people in the dark disaster who were consumed by the dark will. After losing three close friends in the war and dark disaster, Baal's heart gets colder. She also lost her smile and laughter. That's why her nightmare is a dark and creepy place where players need to defeat the Raiden Shogun boss. Then started her conquest for eternity.
