Stay Positive During These Difficult Times

COVID-19 is an incredibly dark topic, that paired with the struggles of being a teenager in 2020 can make it hard to be positive. There are several ways to stay optimistic, though some are more time consuming then others.

One way to stay positive during quarantine is binge watching your favorite shows. Netflix has a large selection of shows at the moment. This selection includes American Horror Story, Hemlock Grove, and the Santa Clarita Diet. Hulu is also a good option for streaming, it has shows like Beverly Hill 90210, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and Rick and Morty. Another good streaming service is Disney+, they have the Simpsons, and childhood shows like Kim Possible or Hannah Montana.

Movies can also be a phenomenal distraction. On Netflix there are several movies like The Kissing Booth, To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before and Hurricane Bianca: from Russia with Hate. There is also Disney+ which has classic disney movies like The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Toy Story and Newsies. On Hulu there is The Spy Who Dumped Me, Heathers and Zombieland. There are many more options on all of the streaming services as well.

TikTok can also be your best friend in quarantine. The videos are short and some of them are very entertaining. You can even learn short new easy dances from the app. You can save the videos to your phone or send them to your friends so they can see what you are up to. TikTok definitely has something for everyone.

One productive thing that can be done is daily exercise. Walking or jogging is a great way to maintain a healthy outlook, plus the weather is nice right now. Once it starts to get hotter staying inside and doing yoga, weight lifting or something like that can be more productive. This time is great to build up your endurance or muscles before the next school year.

Another more productive way to stay positive is working on school stuff. During the quarantine the work you do can only benefit your grade. This can even be done while you watch Netflix, it is easy to have it open on one side while working on any homework you may have. Doing the work will make you have a sense of normality and possibly even help you get into a schedule.

There are many ways to stay positive in quarantine. Streaming movies and TV shows are a great way along with doing your school work and getting healthy.
