Lights, cameras, action! Theater is hosting a musical soon in the auditorium. This Musical that will soon take place will be called A Broadway Revue. The production’s theme is going to be a mix of multiple samples from musicals and their more popular songs.
The songs that will feature in the musical will come from well known musicals like Pippin, Into The Woods, Grease, The Phantom Of the Opera, and Fiddler On The Roof. A Broadway Revue will be featured in the first week of May from the 4th to the 7th. In an interview Mr. Akers said, “The pandemic will make this challenging,” and despite still being in a pandemic, Mr. Akers will try his best to take safety precautions and even mentions the actors will be wearing special masks when they act, so the play can continue.
The reason Mr. Akers wanted to begin this production because he stated that he would like to see, “All the kids singing and dancing.” The play will require a $5 admission fee but it will definitely be worth it considering the hard work that will be put in.
As for the cast list for A Broadway Revue, there will be many talented actors like Adam Carrillo, Jacky Mendez-Sandoval, London Price, Wesley Owen, Ben Allen, Izaak Kary, and many more. The majority of the actors will be split up to play certain roles as the musicals switch. Some of the actors listed will be playing well known roles like Pippin from Pippin, Little Red from Into The Woods, and Danny from Grease.
Along with these lovely actors, the chorus group will be singing in this production. Some voices assisting in the chorus will come from the likes of Arayana Dale, Vanaia Lewis-Diggs, Alicia Brandt, Tana Griffin, Kiki Jinn, Haleymay Urban, Kayce Legg, Hannah Hurley, Mackenzie Champion, and many more.
With the pandemic going on still, many students on campus have not had the chance to experience a musical put on in the auditorium. Do not miss your chance to see Ironwood's Theater and Chorus in action in A Broadway Revue.
