Sometimes life will get you feeling a little lonely, especially if you spend a lot of your time indoors. One way to curve this boredom is video games. If you do not mind the idea of staying up late and chatting with Korean anime boys then Mystic Messenger is right up your alley!
Mystic Messenger is a visual novel game that is created and owned by Cheritz. It is a game where you can date a character in the RFA, also known as Rika’s Fundraising Association. The game begins with a hacker leading you to an address so you can return the missing phone you are messaging him with. Once you find the apartament, you walk in and the game opens up a chat where a bunch of unique characters are chatting and realize you have appeared. From there, they explain that they are an organization called the RFA and they host parties for good causes and they want you to help them since you have appeared in the house where the now deceased hostess was once in.
There are 3 story modes to pick from and those are casual story, deep story, and another story. Depending on which story mode you pick will determine what characters you can date and make like you in the 5 day span. Overall, there is a lot of content in the game and it walks you through everything so it is easy to understand as well.
After you go through the introduction, you will meet Zen, Jumin, Jaehee, Yoosung, 707, and V. Once you meet everyone then you will have to log in at least for 70% of the chats that pop up during the day and in 5 days one character will catch interest in you. If you fail to get a character to like you then you will receive a bad ending. This game has a lot of endings you can experience so it is quite the treat to go through each one.
As someone who has played a good amount of Mystic Messenger, I must say that I am really satisfied with everything the game has to offer. The characters in the game are well written and I really like seeing how their unique personalities interact with one another. My favorite character is Jumin Han, the cat loving businessman, so I tend to play his route a lot. This game usually cheers me up whenever I feel lonely or bored and despite not playing many games Mystic Messenger is definitely a game that makes me feel special.
In conclusion, Mystic Messenger has a lot to offer so feel free to see the story for yourself. The game can be downloaded from any app store that may be on your phone or tablet. If considered, make sure not to look up the game story because there are loads of spoilers online. Go receive those mystic messages!
