Keep the Peace Among Family Members

Quarantine times can be hard when you are stuck at home with your family. Sometimes your family manages to keep things peaceful, sometimes not so much. Keeping the peace can be difficult, it just depends on the family dynamic created. Here are some tips and tricks to ensure that no war is committed in your household.

Avoid touchy subjects within the family. You know what makes your family angry, sad or any other negative emotion. Identify tension and eliminate it immediately. Tension is a gateway to many things negative, be it: fights, arguments, breakdowns or psychological meltdowns. Release the tension if you feel any by talking about the happy and good things.

If any of those tips do not work and an argument breaks out, do these things. Try to defuse the argument as fast as possible. The longer an argument goes on the worse it will be. The more time your brain has to create mean and horrible things to say. Walk away and go to your room. Usually this is the easiest way to end an argument- your room can be the safest place you can be. Quiet down and agree. It is hard to end an argument quickly. Us humans are competitive creatures and if we believe in something passionately enough, we will stick to that belief no matter what, but we still must try to get along.

These next tips are just things to avoid doing overall. Do not be a menace. You are going to be stuck in the house for a while now and well do not be a jerk. Do not say things to intentionally hurt your relatives. In the heat of an argument you can get carried away but just avoid that. Never physically hurt any of your relatives during this time either- no further explanation needed for this one. If you feel like you are just going to disrupt the peace no matter what just keep to yourself then.

Being stuck inside sucks, especially if it is a hostile environment inside. So, keep the peace inside your home with your family. That is all I have to report on eagles, stay safe.
