Halloween Will Live On!

There are so many things that have happened this year, more negatives than positives. I know I am not alone when I say this is by far the weirdest year I have lived in so far and almost nothing has been going normally. Many people are thinking about Halloween already and whether it is going to be normal or not.

Even though the spooky holiday is still a couple of months away, Covid-19 has already made many theme parks cancel their annual Halloween events. This is devastating but I still do not think the whole concept of trick or treating and having fun with friends on Halloween can possibly be cancelled. Through all of the panic people have expressed about their favorite holiday possibly getting “cancelled” Spirit Halloween confirmed that they are planning to open 1,400 stores nationwide which has given everyone a glimpse of hope.

Many people still plan on trick or treating even though others are not too happy about it. If it is really needed, kids can even wear masks out while knocking on door to door, but I do not believe that should be necessary. I feel that Halloween this year could turn out to be an opportunity to add a little bit of normal into the chaotic year of 2020. Although it is important to be safe about this, I think that some people may take it a little bit too far. If people are really that nervous about it, they do not have to pass out candy or they could place a bowl outside of their house with a sign that said please take one that nobody really listens to. You do not have to participate, and you could simply just shut off your porch lights.

Even if somehow people push it enough to where you are not allowed to go trick or treating, Halloween will still live on. You can always just hang out with your friends or have a small Halloween party. Maybe even just buy your own candy and munch on that if you want. Trust me, Halloween cannot get cancelled. You can still have fun watching scary movies and playing on Ouija board with your best friends. It would be such a bummer if something happens to trick or treating on what was supposed to be the best Halloween but at least we have back up plans.

If trick or treating carries on as normal in a couple of months, which I am almost positive it will or at least I hope it will, just be sure to wash your hands after collecting all of your candy and stay safe.
