December Band Concert

Joleen Cope

Staff Reporter

Thankfully, Ironwood has been able to allow a few activities to fit the circumstances we are in rather than just cancelling them entirely, including this year's band concert.

On December 8 there is a winter band concert being held at 6:30 pm. This year, because of COVID-19, the concert will be outside the Ironwood campus and social distancing is a must. The exact location is not yet decided, so be on the lookout for where in the upcoming weeks. It is important for everyone to maintain a six foot distance, so please stay at least six feet away from the people around you if you attend. Also, it is going to be cold outside so be sure you are prepared by wearing some warm clothes. Maybe even wear a holiday sweater to get into the festive spirit.

There will be many different ensembles playing at this concert. This includes percussion ensemble, brass ensembles, woodwind ensembles, and maybe a couple of full band pieces. All band students are playing in this concert whether they are in one or more ensembles. The pieces that will be played have been worked hard on for a while in an effort to make this year’s concert great. There will be different kinds of pieces including a festive one to get in the spirit of the upcoming holidays. Some of the music that should be included in the music are If Thou Be Near and Eine Kleine Christmas

Ironwood's band is very excited that we are able to play at a concert for the winter this year, and we hope to see many of you there.
