Continue Motivating Yourself Through Online School

Even during a normal school year, it can be very difficult to get motivated to do your work. Now that school has been online, many students are having an even harder time with this situation, making this year more stressful for them.

The shift to being online during school due to Covid-19 has been quite stressful for both the students and the teachers. Staring at a computer for hours on end is definitely not how most people want to spend their days. The key to being successful during distanced learning is staying motivated. However, being in an online classroom has caused a lot of motivation loss. Thankfully, there are a few ways you can build your motivation and get back on track with this school thing.

It is always important to keep a decent schedule. Not just a class schedule but a time to get up in the morning and follow a normal routine. Motivation starts with the smaller achievements in your day. Starting your day off right with taking a shower and eating breakfast always helps spark a little bit of motivation. It also will help you wake up, so you do not end up falling asleep during any classes. When at home, especially in your room, it is very tempting to hop in bed and maybe even take a nap. Help yourself out and get that good start to your morning before school begins. Along with having times for a morning routine you should also have one for nighttime too. Go to sleep at a reasonable time so you have more energy the next day.

Also, setting goals is very helpful to be successful with anything. It helps you figure out what you need to do and when you need to do it. Create small goals for yourself for each class so you do not get overwhelmed and discouraged. You could keep track of these goals by writing them down on sticky notes or simply just in a notebook. Getting into the habit of setting goals for yourself now will better prepare you for when we eventually go back to in person school. Achieving the goals you make for yourself will also give you that small sense of victory which gives you that push you need to keep going.

I know this online school thing is stressful, but do not be too hard on yourself about it. Take a break every once in a while and everything will be alright. I believe in all of you, have a great day Eagles.
