A Review of Identity V

Picture this, you and 3 complete strangers are working together to escape, but little did you know, you are being hunted. You must work together in order to escape.

Now most people's first thought is hopefully a video game. Once you piece that together you most likely think “Friday the 13th" or “Dead by Daylight.” But to your surprise it is neither. The game I am talking about is a game called, “Identity V” created by a Chinese company called NetEase.

Identity V is NetEase's first horror game they created. It uses a gothic style to show its lore and storyline. The game style is asymmetrical 4v1 gameplay. Most people will call this a rip off of Dead by daylight, which yes they are similar concept wise but the way the character and hunters are really change the aspect of the two games. The characters in Identity V are very unique and each have special abilities.

Every game has flaws though. NetEase has never put a lot of thought into servers and does a lot of things for money, creating limited gacha things to make you waste your money on. The server lags often due to them not wanting to create extra servers to counter this. Meanwhile this community is great, but, of course, everyone has a downfall. It is impossible not to run into negative people who almost completely ruin the game experience.

I personally found this game completely on accident. I was just watching YouTube and one day stumbled upon it and started playing ever since. The community is mostly great and supportive, except for the few bad eggs I mentioned. I have put over a 1000 hours into this game since I started playing.

Would I personally recommend the game? Yes I would, but not all games are for everyone and that should always be considered with every game.
