It was recently John Lennon’s birthday. The former Beatles band member would have been 80 years old on October 8th. Other former band members Sir. Paul McCartney and Sir. Ringo Star have come together to honor their late band member and friend in a most sincere way. Both have made many touching social media posts that have reached the hearts of many people. Sir Paul captioned one of his posts on snapchat, “I love this picture, it reminds me of the bond between us. Happy 80th John. Love Paul.”

Sir Ringo Starr posted a picture with his wife Barbara Bach sitting together with a CD John had previously given him titled “Ringo listen to this compact disc”, featuring a picture of John with his tongue out. Ringo then captioned the post, “Let’s celebrate John’s 80th birthday with come together Friday, 9 October I still miss you man, peace and love to Yoko, Sean, and Julian.”

They were not the only ones celebrating though. The Empire State Building in New York City was lit up sky blue with a white peace sign to celebrate Lennon’s birthday. His son Sean Ono Lennon also paid tribute to his father in a video where he described the late stars life, how he moved to New York City in 1971, and how he always said it was the greatest city in the world. Sean goes on to say, “I am really grateful he raised me here.”

Sean Lennon went on to say, “We really wanted to do something special. We wanted to keep his message and music out there for the new generations. His message was always love and truth and that is really important, especially for the things that have been going on this past year.”

Kenneth Womack is the author of a new book called John Lennon 1980: The Last Days In The Life. The book focuses more on the legacy, creativity, and activities of the last year of his life. In a final interview on the day he died, John Lennon said how much he cared for the people mentioned in this story. In all John Lennon will always be remembered as a great talent and influential person.
